Cymtec Announces Commercial Availability Of Cymtec Sentry

LOUIS, MISSOURI, USA, January 1, 2007– Cymtec Systems, Inc., a privately-held, leading provider of network security solutions, today announced its newest solution, Cymtec Sentry™ is now available in full commercial release.  After nearly a year-and-a-half of development, internal testing and now successful early-adopter deployments, the Company is fully confident that Cymtec Sentry will be a tremendous addition to Cymtec’s growing product line.  The Company has received a tremendously positive reaction from the limited release clients of Cymtec Sentry and expects the momentum into 2007 to be very strong.

 

The Cymtec Sentry Appliance is an in-line device that acts as a bridge for network traffic. All traffic is scanned for the presence of abnormal traffic markers. Normal traffic is passed through the bridge – and if abnormal traffic is encountered, a variety of actions are automatically performed, based on the type of abnormality and the specific configuration set-up by the user.  Cymtec Sentry will protect your network from:

 

·          Spreading threats such as worms, Spyware, Malware, Trojan horses, and back doors

·          Potential new threats, via Advanced Heuristic Traffic Analysis

·          Corporate network policy violations such as AIM, Yahoo Messenger, Google IM, MSN, IRC, P2P, media-traffic

 

By effectively, quickly and automatically stopping the above-mentioned threats, Cymtec Sentry:

 

·          Minimizes damage caused by outbreaks of both existing and new viruses and worms

·          Immediately notifies key personnel with information about host(s) that are infected

·          Identifies the entry point of outbreaks on your network

 

Cymtec Sentry identifies, notifies and/or automatically stops the spread of any propagating malicious traffic on the network.  Cymtec Sentry allows the client to protect not only their environment from the outside world, but equally importantly, Cymtec Sentry prevents threats from spreading from one part of the network to another – such as office-to-office, or subnet to subnet.
